Union Budget 2021: Now, a new Central University in Leh

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting Union Budget 2021-22 today, at a time when India is recovering from the COVID-19 crisis.

“Over 15,000 schools to be qualitatively strengthened under National Education Policy,” said the Finance Minister Nirmala Sithraman. 100 new Sainik Schools will be made. There are other ‘umbrella’ structures to be created for higher education, announces Sitharaman.

Some major improvements in the educational sector declared in the Union Budget 2021-22 are:

  • Establishment of a new Central University in Leh
  • More than 15,000 schools are to be strengthened
  • 100 new Sainik schools announced
  • Dummy school will be set up following the New Education Policy

After one of the most eventful years in the education space where physical schools and colleges were shut down and shifted to online space, the NEP 2020 was launched, demands from the Budget of the upcoming years are also varied. While most academicians demand further strengthening of infrastructure, FDI, and more allocation of funds.
