Union Budget 2021: FM ditches traditional Bahi Khata, to use a tablet this year

The Union budget is set to be delivered paperless this time as the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was seen carrying a tablet which is ‘Digital Bahi Khata’ instead of a traditional briefcase.

Sitharaman was seen carrying a tablet inside the red coloured cover with a golden coloured National Emblem embossed on it.

She was accompanied by Mos Finance and other officials from her ministry. While commenting on why she is using a tablet this year, the minister said that Modi-government is not a suitcase carrying government.

The Union Budget which is to be presented at 11 AM today comes with a greater significance as it comes during the time of COVID-19 pandemic.
