Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman concluded her Union Budget 2022 address on Tuesday afternoon after one hour and twenty minutes, the shortest of her tenure.
Sitharaman delivered her fourth budget since taking over as finance minister in 2019. According to billionaire Anand Mahindra, this might be the most significant Budget ever.
The head of Mahindra & Mahindra moved to Twitter to applaud the 62-year-old for her comments. “Brevity has always been a virtue. @nsitharaman‘s shortest budget address may prove to be the most impactful…” Mahindra posted a tweet.
This is, certainly, the shortest Budget speech ever delivered by any Finance Minister in history, particularly Sitharaman, who is known to take her time while delivering hers.
