7th Pay Commission: DA hike center to give another bonanza for lakhs of govt employees

For those residing in ‘X’ category cities, the hike will be 27 percent. For residents of ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ categories, the hike will be 18 percent and 9 percent respectively.

A few days ago the central government made an announcement for raising the dearness allowance for its millions of employees and pensioners from 17 percent which raised up to 28 percent, with effect from July 1, the Central Government has announced another bonus for them.

The central government said according to the latest reports it is to be believed that the central government has also decided to increase the House Rent Allowance (HRA) for the government employees. Following this, employees will receive an increased HRA as per the revised rates, from next month with effective from 1st August 2021.

The Centre has seized that the HRA to be hiked as per the Dearness Allowance which has crossed the mark of 25 percent.

As per the order, the Central Government employees will get the raise as per the categories of the cities they live in, those residing in ‘X’ category cities, the raise will be 27 percent, and residents of ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ categories, the hike will be 18 percent and 9 percent respectively.

When the DA will cross 50 percent, the rates of HRA will be revised to 30%, 20%, and 10% respectively.

The X category cities are those with a population of more than 50 lakh. The Y and Z category cities are those with populations of more than 5 lakh and less than five lakh respectively.

The memorandum released said that the rate of HRA per month will be paid under the following category as X 24 percent, Y 16 percent, and Z 8 percent.
