In a bold move to mark the 35th anniversary of their historic ‘Trans-Himalayan Expedition’ of 1989, the Vidharbha Automotive Racing Association (VARA) has announced plans for an ‘All-Women Trans-Himalayan Motor Expedition’ scheduled for 2025. This groundbreaking adventure, set to span 60 days, will see exclusively female drivers and navigators traverse the challenging terrain of the Himalayas. The initiative aims to celebrate women’s achievements in motorsports and adventure while paying homage to VARA’s legacy of record-setting expeditions.
Mehernosh Mavalwala, president of VARA, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming endeavour, stating, “The ‘All-Women Trans-Himalayan Motor Expedition’ represents a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to fostering inclusivity and pushing the boundaries of adventure sports.
