On Friday, September 12, 2025, Trent Limited announced that its flagship fashion retail brand Westside has launched the Young New Game-changer (YNG) program, an initiative aimed at celebrating and empowering India’s next generation of fashion creatives.
For the debut edition, Westside collaborated with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), inviting students to reimagine two of its popular in-house labels — Bombay Paisley and ETA. Under the new YNG label, students created a bold, Gen Z-inspired collection, which was unveiled at Westside’s Media Day on September 11. The event showcased not only the YNG capsule collections but also Westside’s broader seasonal fashion lineup, reflecting the brand’s evolving creative direction.
The YNG platform has been designed as a dynamic stage for young designers, stylists, models, influencers, photographers, videographers, and hair and make-up artists to showcase their talent in a professional fashion environment. Shailina, COO of Westside, said: “Through YNG, we gave emerging talent the opportunity to design for real brands, build strong portfolios, and gain valuable industry experience while being rewarded for their work. It was truly a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the entrepreneurial spirit of Gen Z.”
The journey of YNG has also been documented in a behind-the-scenes mini-series titled From Sketch to Store: The YNG Journey, which highlights the process from concept sketches to the final collection reveal. The series opened with noted design duo Saaksha & Kinni, showcasing the passion and vision behind the inaugural YNG collections.
Through this program, Westside has reinforced its positioning as a purpose-driven lifestyle brand, creating meaningful spaces for young voices and building a launchpad for bold ideas that can evolve into careers.
