A straight band or line with a colour that differs from the fabric on each side of it is called a stripe. Let’s learn more about Striped Clothing, through the help of this article.
What is striped clothing?
“Striped cloth” refers to any textile that has been knitted, printed, or weft-faced in a way that results in bands of various colours that are either equally or unevenly spaced on the surface of the fabric.
Striped clothing is among the earliest instances of woven textiles still in existence. As a result of its widespread use, it has been used to identify members of military regiments, graduates of universities, organisations, and other affinity groups. Additionally, striped clothing has occasionally been popular in women’s fashion since World War 2.
Most striped fabrics are used nowadays to make men’s dress shirts, ties, and suits, partially in the belief that vertical stripes will give the appearance of a leaner, taller figure.
How to style it?
Stripes can be worn in any manner you choose, whether they are horizontal or vertical. While the majority of fashion gurus advise using vertical stripes to lengthen your body and appear taller, a study suggests that horizontal stripes might not have the same effect but the fit of your clothing has a significant impact on how you look as a whole. Don’t be afraid to combine stripes with other stripes or patterns though; wearing stripes on stripes that are at an angle is very fashionable and makes a statement. They also look great when you layer them, wear textured clothing with them, and play around with colour.
