After 17 contestants get COVID-19, including India Manasa Varanasi, Miss World 2021 gets postponed

The broadcast of the Miss World event 2021′ finale has been postponed and rescheduled in Puerto Rico.

Miss world 2021 finals have been, currently temporarily postponed after several contestants of the event reported to be tested positive for Covid, this announcement was made on Thursday, just a few hours before the scheduled events were to start. Currently, the contestants are in isolation in Puerto Rico, where the finale was scheduled to take place.

An official statement said, “Keeping in mind the rising Covid cases amongst the contestants, the Miss World Organisation has taken the decision to postpone the Miss World finale”.

After 17 contestants and staff members were tested positive for the covid 10 virus, such a decision of isolation was taken forward. Among the infected also included Manasa Varanasi, who was crowned Miss India World 2020, and will be representing India at the international beauty pageant.

Taking on to their official Instagram page, Miss India Organisation said, “We were in great disbelief that she (Manasa Varani) might not be able to grace the world stage in spite of her immense hard work and dedication,however, her safety is of utmost importance to us”.

“We can’t wait to welcome Manasa back home, nurture her back to health and send her back stronger, healthier and happier”, the organization added.

The finale broadcast was rescheduled at Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot within the next 90 days.
