PM Modi will deliver a virtually addressed speech at the Annual United Nations General Assembly at 6:30 pm IST today. This will be an Annual Meeting of the UN assembly which is going to be held at the UN office in New York . This will be the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was started in 1945, after the end of World War II.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UN has decided to organize a virtual meeting. Most of the Speeches by the officials of the UN members is expected to be prerecorded and they will release it by the time of the meeting.

Prime Minister’s Office of India retweeted a video from @IndiaUNNewYork about this event and said to do watch PM’s Speech at UN.

Some of the prior agenda for India to speak in this Meeting will be to push for strengthening global action against terrorism, sources told news agency Press Trust of India.

They said that India will pitch for more transparency in the process of listing and de-listing of terror entities and individuals by the UN sanction committees.

“Being one of the largest troops contributing nations to the UN, India will also seek to engage intensively in finalizing of mandates for the UN peacekeeping mission,” they said.
