According to a report by Bloomberg, Pakistan on Wednesday nearly fired a missile towards India in retaliation to India’s accidentally fired missile. Pakistan was fully prepared to launch a similar missile towards India but halted its plans as something was amiss, as per the report.

On March 9, the Indian Air Force accidentally fired a BrahMos medium-range cruise missile from Ambala. This incident happens while checking the functioning of the system. This caused some damage in Pakistan but no casualties were reported.

Pakistan held a press conference to publicise this issue. Indian Air Force clearly stated that this was just an accident. Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh assured to reavel the exact reasons for the accidental launch soon. “India gives utmost priority to the safety and security of its missile systems and any gap revealed by the probe will be addressed,” said Rajnath at the Parliament on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the US has also cleared its stance on the incident & said that it’s “Nothing just an accident.” Comments from the Defence Ministry at to be awaited on Pakistan’s retaliation.
