“As a mark of our deepest respect for former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, a one-day national mourning shall be observed on 9 July 2022,” PM Modi wrote on Twitter.

Earlier today, while campaigning former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot in the public. World leaders had taken to express their grief and condolences at his demise. PM Modi went on to mention a previous instance when he had collaborated with Abe. He commended Abe for his “sharp thoughts on business and world issues”. That had a lasting effect on him and recalled meeting Abe. When he was Gujarat’s chief minister. He also congratulated PM on his insightful economic policies. And that he always tried to work toward stronger economic ties with India.
