5 basic exercises to stay fit and healthy during the pandemic

With an ongoing pandemic, it will be apt to say that it is the “survival of the fittest”. So, what you are doing to stay fit? You don’t need to take out extra time and join a gym to stay healthy. However, you just need to do 5 basic exercises daily to stay fit.

It has become crucial to stay strong and healthy during this pandemic. But, instead of getting a gym membership and increasing the risk of getting infected, you can do these exercises to stay fit. These exercises are simple and can be performed anywhere without any equipment.

These are 5 basic exercises you can at home with ease:

  • Push-Ups
  • Squats
  • Crunches/Sit Ups
  • Burpees
  • Planks

Perform all these exercises in the exact order without rest in between. This will make the exercises more intense helping to burn more calories in less time. Do 10 repetitions of each exercise and complete this circuit at least 3 times.

Start with doing 10 reps of push-ups, do make sure you inhale when bringing your body up and exhale while returning your initial position. After push-ups your arms and shoulders will get tired, so now we will focus on a different muscle group i.e. your lower body. 

 

Without taking any break, come to a squat position and best way to do that is by imaging you’re going to sit on a chair. Now, stretch your lower back a bit outwards and try sitting on that imaginary chair. However, make sure your feet are not wider than your waist. Also, your knees must not go ahead of your toes when they bend.

 

After finishing 10 reps of squats, you can move on to the next muscle group i.e. your core. You can ask someone to hold your feet if you can’t keep them fixed while bringing your upper body upwards.

While you were training your core, your arms and lower got enough rest for this next exercise. First, you have to do a push up then bring your knees to your chest and then jump as high as possible. This is one rep, repeat it for another 9 times to complete 10 reps.

This exercise will target all the major muscle groups and is very simple to perform. You need to keep your core tight and your body straight. Start with 30 seconds and increase the time by a few seconds every day.

So, these were 5 simple exercises to stay fit and strengthen you not only from outside but inside too. Do make sure you perform every exercise in the correct form to avoid injuries. Also, focus on the quality of reps and not quantity.
