Passengers from this countries won’t need to undergo RT-PCR tests or COVID-19 tests upon landing in India

As a result of the dramatic reduction in the six locations, the Ministry of Health updated its travel recommendations.

With effect starting on February 13 at 11 am, travellers flying into India from or via Singapore will not be required to upload a self-health declaration to the Air Suvidha portal or provide a positive COVID-19 test result.

A “continuous and considerable drop in trend of Covid-19 cases” in the six locations (including Singapore) over the previous four weeks prompted the Ministry of Health to change its travel advice, the Indian High Commission in Singapore tweeted.

In order to track diseases brought on by mutated strains of SARS-CoV-2 among those travellers, the current practise of randomly testing 2% of all foreign visitors to India (regardless of country of origin) upon arrival must continue.

Pre-departure According to the January release, all passengers arriving from these six COVID-19 high-risk countries must undergo RT-PCR testing and have it completed 72 hours before boarding the flight. No of where they are from, all travellers transiting through these six countries must abide by this law, which is enforced at all Indian airports. Delegates, investors, and other visitors coming to India to take part in the two international meetings—the Global Investors Summit and the G20 summit—will undergo an RT-PCR Covid test, according to the chief medical officer of Lucknow. PM Modi will travel to Lucknow to officially open the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023, which is slated to take place from February 10–12.

All foreign arrivals from China, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, and Japan must now present a negative RT-PCR report from a test performed 72 hours prior to the departure, according to the earlier set of COVID-19 travel recommendations, which the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India released in January.

The CMO, Manoj Agarwal, noted the events that would be conducted here and stated,”We have installed 24×7 running booths for RT-PCR in the district, including at the airports. Besides this, our mobile teams are placed to conduct the Covid test of the delegates and the open Covid-testing booths are open for everyone participating in the events.”

According to the January announcement, 2% of travellers will continue to undergo post-arrival random testing regardless of their location of departure. The COVID-19 virus has been detected in international visitors to India.
