On Sunday, April 18, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), GNCTD took decision regarding travel guidelines for travellers returning from Kumbh Mela.
Authority said that– “All residents of Delhi, returning from Haridwar after attending Kumbh Mela, will have to mandatorily stay in home quarantine for 14 days on arrival to the national capital.”
Authority also released circular regarding it which states that “All Delhi residents, who visited Haridwar’s Kumbh from 4th April till today or will be travelling today up till 30th April, are required to upload details (viz name, address in Delhi, contact number, ID proof, date of departure from Delhi & arrival here) on link at Delhi government portal, i.e www.delhi.gov.in.”
All those residents of Delhi who have visited or are going to visit Kumbh-2021 at Haridwar, shall be required to compulsory Home Quarantine themselves for 14 days on arrival to Delhi.
Circular also states that If it is found / reported that any such resident of Delhi who has returned to Delhi after visiting Kumbh-2021, has not uploaded the requisite details / information, he / she shall be sent to the institutional quarantine centre for 14 days by the District Magistrate concerned.
District Magistrates of Delhi shall ensure tracing and surveillance on a daily basis of all such residents of Delhi. They should also ensure quarantining of such residents of Delhi, either at Home or in the institutional Government Quarantine Centers, as the case may be.
More than 2,100 people have tested positive for Covid-19 at the Kumbh in Haridwar. All the COVID-19 protocol was openly violated as lakhs gathered to participate in Kumbh Mela.
In the last 24 hours, Delhi reported 24, 374 new COVID-19 cases, highest ever single-day tally, and total deaths registered are 167.
