On Thursday, April 29, Union Health Ministry released the data of new COVID-19 cases in India, after that India saw another day with highest surge in cases.
Report released by the Union Health Ministry states that in the last 24 hours, India reported 3,79,257 new COVID-19 cases and 2,69,507 patients got discharge, while 3645 people died of this deadly virus. Total active cases in India is now around 30.84 lakhs. The total death toll in India reached to 2,04,832.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) also released a data that shows 28,44,71,979 samples were tested up to April 28, including 17,68,190 samples tested yesterday.
The total vaccination across the country has come near to 15 Crore mark. Also, the country has administered more than 20 lakh vaccine doses till 8 pm.
The cumulative number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 14,98,77,121.
These include 93,66,239 Healthcare Workers (HCWs) who have taken the 1st dose and 61,45,854 HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 1,23,09,507 Frontline Workers (FLWs) (1st dose), 65,99,492 FLWs (2nd dose), 5,09,75,753 for over 45 years old to 60 years old (1st Dose), 31,42,239 for over 45 years old to 60 years old (2nd dose), 5,14,70,903 for above 60 years (1st Dose) and 98,67,134 for above 60 years (2nd Dose).
Health Ministry also released data about the transportation of Vaccine to states and Union territories at free of Cost. A liberalised and accelerated Phase 3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination will be implemented from 1st May 2021. Registration for the new eligible population groups commenced on 28th April from 4 pm. Potential beneficiaries has option to either register directly on Co-WIN portal (cowin.gov.in) or through the Aarogya Setu app.
Government of India has so far provided nearly 16 crore vaccine doses (15,95,96,140) to States/UTs Free of Cost. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 14,89,76,248 doses.
More than 1 crore COVID Vaccine doses (1,06,19,892) are still available with the States/UTs to be administered. More than 57 Lakh (57,70,000) vaccine doses will be received in addition by the States/UTs within the next 3 day
