India exported 6.45 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses to 84 countries till now: Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan

Dr. Vardhan said, “149 districts have not seen a case of COVID in last 7 days, 8 districts have not seen a case in last 14 days, 3 districts have not seen a case in last 21 days, 63 districts have not seen a case in last 28 days.”

On Friday, April 9, Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan held a press conference regarding the increase of Covid-19 cases in India.

While addressing to the press conference, the Union Health Minister shared the status of Covid-19 vaccination across the country. He said, “As far as healthcare workers are concerned, over 89 Lakhs have got first dose and over 54 Lakhs have got the second dose. As far as frontline or field level workers are concerned, over 98 Lakhs have got the first dose and over 45 Lakhs have got the second dose.”

“For those between 45 – 59 yrs of age, first dose has been received by over 2.61 crore people & second dose has been received by 5,23,268 people. For those above 60 yrs of age, over 3.75 crore people have received first dose & over 13 Lakh people have received second dose,” Dr. Vardhan added, as quoted by ANI.

The Health Minister further added, “Today at 9 o’clock, the latest figures suggest that 9,43,34,262 doses have been given to people in India. In the last 24 hours, we have given 36,91,511 doses. Last week we even gave 43 Lakhs doses one day, probably the highest given anywhere in the whole world.”

The Union Health Minister also shared some update about the 24th meeting of the High-level Group of Ministers and said, “At the time of our last meeting we had 1,53,847 deaths in whole country but today we have 1,67,642 deaths. At that time it was 123 additional deaths & today it is 780 additional deaths every day.”

 

The Health Minister further shared some facts and figures about the critical COVID-19 patients across the nation. He said, “Right now 0.46% of the active critical patients are on ventilators, 2.31% are in ICU and 4.51% are on oxygen-supported beds.” Our fatality rate continues to come down. Right now it is at 1.28%.”
Dr. Harsh Vardhan also shared some positive update as many cities have not reported a single Covid-19 case in the last week. Dr. Vardhan said, “149 districts have not seen a case of COVID in last 7 days, 8 districts have not seen a case in last 14 days, 3 districts have not seen a case in last 21 days, 63 districts have not seen a case in last 28 days.”
The Health Minister also shared facts about recovered Patients and said, “1,19,13,292 have totally recovered in the country. Our recovery rate, which at one point of time, in last 2-3 months had even gone up to 96-97%, has now come down to 91.22%.”

Dr. Harsh Vardhan shared information about Vaccine exports and diplomacy. He said, “Till now we have exported 6.45 crore doses to 84 countries, which includes 1.05 crores to 44 countries as grants, 3.58 crores to 25 countries as commercial contracts & 1.82 crores to 39 countries through the COVAX facility of World Health Organisation.”

India recorded over 1.31 lakh Covid-19 cases on Thursday, with Maharashtra reporting 56,286 cases, Chhattisgarh 10,662 cases, Uttar Pradesh 8,490, Delhi 7,437 cases and Karnataka 6,570 cases in last 24 hours.
