Kejriwal government had ordered ordered 33 private hospitals in Delhi, including five fully Covid-19 hospitals, to reserve 80 per cent of their bed capacity in ICU wards for COVID-19 patients with immediate effect on September 12 after witnessing a surge in the number of Coronavirus cases. Delhi Health Minister had yesterday said that Delhi hospitals currently have 1,000 ICU beds.

Earlier in May too, the Delhi government had directed 117 private hospitals and nursing homes registered with it, having 50 beds or more, to reserve 20 per cent of their bed strength for Covid-19 patients.
