Delhi CM Kejriwal thanks Centre & High Court for Oxygen supply in national capital

Delhi CM Kejriwal holds a press conference on Thursday, talking about the condition of oxygen supply in Delhi.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday, holds a press conference and talks of the specific circumstances pertaining to the oxygen supply in the national capital.

“Centre also allots companies that will supply oxygen to a particular state. Delhi doesn’t produce oxygen, supply here is done by other states. Some of the governments in whose states these companies are, had stopped the supply that was to come to Delhi from these companies,” said CM Kejriwal.

Further adding, CM Kejriwal said, “Government said that they will use oxygen in their states first, use Delhi’s quota too and that they will not let trucks come to Delhi. But I would like to thank the centre and the Delhi High Court that they helped us a lot in the last 2-3 days. Due to this, oxygen has started reaching Delhi,” as quoted by ANI.

Well, several states are enormously facing a shortage of oxygen supplies. In Nasik, Maharashtra, on Wednesday, an oxygen cylinder leaked out and 24 Covid patients died out of suffocation. Several public figures including Prime Minister Modi has expressed condolences and sadness over the unfortunate incident.

In addition to this, India is so overwhelmed with the Covid-19 cases. The total number of cases stands at 15.6 million. Though vaccination is also being carried out at a great length. According to the health ministry, over 13 crore doses of vaccine have been administered so far in the country.

Furthermore, in the wake of escalating rates of Covid-19, several states governments have imposed a number of restrictions on the movement of people and other activities.

Even, the national capital is to function under a complete lockdown till the 26th of April, 2021.
