COVID: Delhi Health Minister assures “hospitalization rate going down”

Delhi Health Minister, Satyendra Jain, on Monday, while interacting with the media persons assured that the COVID is under control.

The government is keeping a close watch on the number of new cases rising daily, said, Satyendra Jain, while interacting with the media on Monday. The health Minister also added that the government is “keeping a watchful eye over the COVID-19 situation and there was no reason to worry until a new variant of concern is detected”.

“The count of daily cases in Delhi is being reported in the range of 100-200. We are keeping an eye on hospital admissions, and that is going down. The focus shouldn’t be on positivity rate much as of now,” Jain said. The first case of the Omicron XE variant is under observation and the samples of the test are already sent to the laboratory. The results are awaited. Jain, while reacting to the variant, said that a new variant is getting generated every day as the virus mutates”.

According to the reports, the newly found variant is the recombinant of BA.1 and BA.2.
