COVID-19: Russia registers the world’s first Coronavirus vaccine, Vladimir Putin’s daughter gets vaccinated

Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute has produced a coronavirus vaccine which has been given regulatory approval by the Russian Health Ministry

In the race to produce the COVID-19 vaccine, Russia came first.

Reuters has reported that Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute has produced a coronavirus vaccine which has been given regulatory approval by the Russian Health Ministry after less than 2 months of clinical trials.

In a statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that the vaccine has gone through the necessary tests. He also congratulated the medical professionals and researchers who had worked on the vaccine. He also said that one of his two daughters has also been administered the vaccine
According to the Russian Health Ministry, the process of mass inoculation should start by October.

Various industry professionals and organizations have raised questions over the hasty approval of said vaccine but Russia remains the firm in its position.
