According to the union health ministry’s dashboard, India reported 52,123 fresh Coronavirus cases and 775 fatalities in the last 24 hours. India’s case count now stands at 15,83,792.
The number of recoveries has reached 10,20,582 while the number of active cases stands at 5,28,242. The gap between the number of active cases and recoveries has been a key statistic that offers hope in the country’s battle against the Coronavirus infection.
Meanwhile, as Unlock 3 kicks in, the government issued guidelines for opening up more activities outside of the containment zone.
The government has allowed the opening of gyms and yoga centres for the first time since the nationwide lockdown was implemented. The health ministry will provide a separate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for this. On Wednesday, the union home ministry issued guidelines according to which night curfews are also removed.
Schools, colleges, bars, metro rail services along with cinema halls are to remain shut till August 31. Political and religious gatherings will also be prohibited.
The Unlock 3 guidelines will come into force since August 1 and strict lockdowns will continue in containment zones till August 31.
