Central Railway is operating 68 additional services to maintain Social Distancing and avoid Crowding

Railway service are coming back to normal after several stages of lockdown. Social distancing is the key approach to deal with COVID-19 , by the time passengers are increasing and to avoid crowding Central Railway is going to operate 68 additional services. Thus the count of special Active Suburban services from today reached to 423. This will try to ensure reduction in crowd and passengers will be able to maintain proper social distancing.

Suburban trains are passenger trains that cover short distances of up to 150 km.  These trains help in facilitating movement of passengers within cities and suburbs.  Suburban train services are provided in seven zonal Railways and spread over 1,763 km,  providing services to the cities of Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Secunderabad.
