Shares of Walchandnagar Industries surged 5% to hit the upper circuit at Rs 162.68 in Monday’s trade after the company announced that it has secured a contract worth Rs 30.75 crore from the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC). The order pertains to the fabrication and supply of S139 segment hardware and is valid for five years from March 28, 2025, or until 14 months after the final supply.
According to the company’s exchange filing, the contract includes five units each of S139 Head End Segment (HES), Middle Segment (MS), and Nozzle End Segment (NES) Hardware, fabricated using maraging steel with a nominal diameter of 2.8 meters. The raw materials for fabrication will be supplied to Walchandnagar by the department itself. The scope also allows for up to three additional segment units to be ordered under the same terms.
