TCS partners with IIT Kharagpur to launch advanced research center for digital health, robotics, and intelligent systems

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) has announced the establishment of an Advanced Research Center in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP). The center, located at IIT KGP’s Research Park in New Town, Kolkata, aims to pioneer cutting-edge research in digital health, robotics, and intelligent systems using technologies like edge computing, embedded systems, and AI.

With over 150 TCS scientists working at the facility, the center will also house a Customer Experience Center, where clients from industries such as healthcare, mobility, and manufacturing can experience original research concepts and participate in collaborative workshops with TCS scientists and IIT KGP faculty.

Dr. Harrick Vin, Chief Technology Officer, TCS, emphasized that this collaboration highlights a new approach to industry-academic partnerships, facilitating knowledge exchange and innovative solutions.

Professor Virendra Kumar Tewari, Director of IIT KGP, stated that this collaboration strengthens IIT KGP’s strategic relationship with TCS and aims to drive transformative innovations in healthcare and intelligent systems, enhancing quality of life and addressing pressing global challenges.
