Stocks To Watch On October 10: Vedanta shares in focus as company cancels board meeting for the second time

Vedanta Limited has cancelled its scheduled board meeting for the second consecutive day, citing unforeseen circumstances. This meeting, originally slated for October 9, 2024, was set to discuss a fourth interim dividend for FY25. The company made the announcement in a regulatory filing, complying with SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements.

Vedanta had previously postponed the same board meeting from October 8 to October 9, but both have now been called off. The mining conglomerate, chaired by Anil Agarwal, did not provide specific details about the reasons behind the cancellations.

However, it was noted that Agarwal recently acknowledged the passing of his mother on the social media platform “X,” which may have influenced the decision.

As of today’s market close, Vedanta’s share price stood at ₹496.25, marking a minor decline of ₹1.20 or 0.24%. Investors are now looking for further updates from the company regarding the rescheduling of the board meeting and any announcements about the proposed interim dividend.
