Stock markets to remain closed on November 20 for Maharashtra Assembly Elections

The Indian stock markets will see two trading holidays in November 2024. On Friday, November 15, the markets will remain closed for Guru Nanak Jayanti, a significant religious holiday.

Additionally, Wednesday, November 20, will be a trading holiday due to the Maharashtra Assembly Elections. Voting for the 288-member state legislative assembly will take place on this day, with votes counted three days later on November 23. This marks the third holiday in November, following the market closure on November 1 for Diwali.

NSE in its circular dated November 8, said “The Exchange hereby notifies Wednesday, November 20, 2024 as a trading holiday on account of Assembly Elections in Maharashtra.”
