The stock market closed positively on September 10, with the Sensex gaining 362 points and the Nifty staying above 25,000. IT, media, and telecom sectors led the rally, while oil and gas remained the only sector to close in the red.
Top Gainers and Losers
On the Nifty, major gainers included Divis Laboratories (up 4.89%), LTIMindtree (up 3.20%), Bharti Airtel (up 2.28%), Wipro (up 2.12%), and HCL Technologies (up 1.85%). Among the losers were HDFC Life Insurance (down 4.47%), SBI Life Insurance (down 2.54%), Bajaj Finserv (down 1.93%), Shriram Finance (down 1.68%), and Bajaj Finance (down 1.44%).
The Sensex also saw a similar pattern, with HCL Technologies, Bharti Airtel, and Wipro among the top gainers. On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, and Hindustan Unilever were among the top losers.
All sectoral indices except oil and gas ended in the green, with telecom and media sectors both rising 2%. Capital goods, IT, healthcare, and power sectors saw a 1% gain each. The BSE Midcap index was up 0.5%, while the Smallcap index gained 1.5%, reflecting the overall positive market sentiment.
The Bank Nifty closed at 51,117.8, experiencing a slight dip of 0.81% over the past week.
