The provisional cash data indicates that FIIs recorded a net buy of Rs 809.23 crore, signaling renewed interest in Indian stocks. This development comes amid mixed market sentiment driven by global cues and sector-specific performances.
Indian equity markets saw a remarkable surge, with the Nifty 50 closing above the 23,700 mark on February 4. The Sensex rose by 1,397.07 points, or 1.81%, to reach 78,583.81, while the Nifty gained 378.20 points, or 1.62%, closing at 23,739.25.
The Nifty 50 index saw substantial gains, with several stocks outperforming and contributing to the overall rise. Among the top gainers were Shriram Finance, Larsen & Toubro, and Bharat Electronics, which led the rally.

The buying spree by FIIs was notable as their total purchase stood at Rs 18,105.75 crore, outpacing sales of Rs 17,296.52 crore. Meanwhile, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) were net sellers, offloading Rs 430.7 crore worth of equities. Their total sales were Rs 15,433.34 crore, against purchases of Rs 15,002.64 crore.
The combined turnover from both NSE and BSE was robust, with the total F&O volume hitting Rs 48,839.43 crore. The turnover breakdown shows Rs 13,630.56 crore contributed by NSE and Rs 35,208.88 crore from BSE, reflecting active participation from both derivatives and cash segments.
