The National Stock Exchange of India on Monday announced a trading holiday in the capital market segment on January 15, 2026, on account of the Municipal Corporation elections in Maharashtra, according to an official exchange circular.

In a notification issued by the Capital Market Segment, the NSE said that Thursday, January 15, 2026, will be observed as a trading holiday for the Capital Market (CM) segment. The announcement partially modifies an earlier exchange circular issued in December 2025.

The circular, dated January 12, 2026, has been released under Download Reference No. NSE/CMTR/72260 and Circular Reference No. 07/2026. The exchange has requested all trading members to take note of the revised schedule and plan their trading activities accordingly.

The notice was issued on behalf of the exchange by Khushal Shah, Associate Vice President at NSE.

The holiday applies specifically to the capital market segment, while participants are advised to refer to separate circulars for trading schedules of other segments, including derivatives and commodities, on the same date.
