Exide Industries posted a steady set of numbers for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, with year-on-year growth driven by robust performance in its solar, battery replacement, and industrial UPS segments.

The company reported a 14.6% jump in net profit, reaching ₹320.5 crore as compared to ₹279.6 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue grew by 4.6% YoY to ₹4,509.8 crore, while EBITDA rose 10.8% to ₹548 crore. Operating margins also improved, climbing from 11.5% to 12.2%.

A key growth driver during the quarter was Exide’s solar business, which saw significant traction, backed by supportive government initiatives. Meanwhile, demand in the replacement battery market for two-wheelers and four-wheelers continued to remain strong, delivering double-digit growth. This was attributed to the company’s focus on high-performance products and customer-focused solutions in the mobility space.

The industrial UPS business also registered strong growth, fueled by increasing demand for reliable power backup solutions across multiple sectors. However, the automotive OEM segment was impacted by lower demand from vehicle manufacturers in the passenger vehicle and two-wheeler categories.

Exide’s industrial infrastructure division witnessed improved performance with rising order inflows and better execution, particularly in power, railways, and traction sectors. On the other hand, telecom and exports were affected by rapid tech changes and global geopolitical uncertainties, which led to a decline in those areas.

On the strategic front, Exide continues to progress with its investment in Exide Energy Solutions Ltd. (EESL). The company invested ₹300 crore in Q1 FY26 and another ₹100 crore in July 2025. With this, the total investment in EESL has reached ₹3,702.23 crore. Construction and equipment installation at the site are nearing completion, and production is expected to begin towards the end of FY26. The company is also actively seeking partnerships with OEMs and energy providers in major consumer markets.
