Indian equity benchmarks ended on a flat note in a volatile trading session on February 26, with the Nifty hovering around the 25,500 mark at close. The Sensex slipped 27.46 points or 0.03% to settle at 82,248.61, while the Nifty gained 14.05 points or 0.06% to close at 25,496.55.
Despite the muted headline performance, several Nifty 50 stocks ended the day with gains.
Among the top gainers was Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, which closed at ₹391.6, up 2.5%. Eicher Motors settled at ₹8,190.0, advancing 2.3%, while Bharat Electronics ended at ₹449.1, higher by 2.2%.
Max Healthcare Institutions closed at ₹1,109.9, gaining 2.0%, and Shriram Finance ended at ₹1,104.6, up 1.7% for the session. Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone rose 1.4% to close at ₹1,550.6.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries added 1.2% to settle at ₹1,785.7, while Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories gained 1.0% to close at ₹1,319.3. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation also ended 1.0% higher at ₹280.1. Maruti Suzuki India advanced 1.0%, finishing the session at ₹15,213.0.
