Market capital of BSE listed companies hits record high today

All the companies listed in the Bombay Stock Exchange hit a milestone record today. The market valuation touched a lifetime high of Rs 291.89 lakh crore. The market capitalization of all the listed firms of the exchange rose to 16 per cent in both Dollars and Rupees.

The Bombay Stock Exchange-listed firms’ previous peak was Rs 291.30 lakh crore in December 2022.

The growth factors behind this peak are the gains that Indian markets are experiencing post-March after improvements in the macroeconomic factors.

BSE-listed firms capped an all-time high in the midst of Sensex which fell over 150 points in the early trends and US Federal Reserves paused the hike and indicated that two possible hikes are to be witnessed by the end of 2023.

The market valuation of all the BSE listed firms surged nearly 40 lakh crore with top gainer being Reliance industries which added almost 2 lakh crore to its market capital. Firms like Adani enterprises and Bajaj Finance have contributed close to 1 lakh crore each. ITC, ICICI, State Bank of India, Tata Motors and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) contributed around 51,000 to 82,000 crore each as reported by CNBC-TV 18.

The Indian equity markets have displayed a sharp recovery from their 2023 lows and is being traded at a record high. The Nifty50 index is around 150 points high whereas Sensex has slipped to low in 2022 and 2023 consecutively. Foreign portfolio investments have rose from $2 billion in March-April to $5 billion in May with similar intakes expected to continue in June as well.
