Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced that it has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) by the Government of Meghalaya for the redevelopment, operation, and maintenance of the Orchid Hotel, Shillong. The project will be executed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Project Highlights:
- The hotel will be rebranded as Aurika Shillong, part of Lemon Tree’s premium brand portfolio.
- The revamped property will house approximately 120 rooms, a restaurant, banquet facilities, a fitness center, and a spa.
- The redevelopment project is expected to be completed and operational within three years.
To implement this project, Lemon Tree Hotels plans to establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), potentially involving a Joint Venture (JV), subject to board approval.
Strategic Expansion This move marks Lemon Tree Hotels’ significant foray into the Northeast region, aligning with its strategy to enhance its footprint in emerging markets and provide high-quality hospitality infrastructure.
