Defence stocks witnessed a broad-based decline as Nifty fell by 1.20% (-270.40 points) to 22,274.65. Data Patterns experienced the steepest drop, falling 3.67% to ₹1,464.75. GRSE also saw a significant decline of 2.57%, closing at ₹1,276.25. HAL was down 1.62%, ending the session at ₹3,190.00.
Other defence stocks followed the bearish trend, with Apollo Micro down 0.75% to ₹114.40 and Paras Defence declining 0.87% to ₹884.75. Bharat Electronics (BEL) fell 1.39% to ₹248.95, and Mazagon Dock slipped 1.56% to ₹2,069.15. Solar Industries dropped 1.79% to ₹8,567.30, while Avantel decreased by 1.91% to ₹112.17.
BEML saw a decline of 2.12%, closing at ₹2,515.60, and BDL was down 2.18% to ₹995.25. Astra Microwave fell 2.32% to ₹602.10. Zen Technologies experienced the sharpest decline, plunging 5.11% to ₹1,053.15.
The defence sector mirrored the overall market sentiment, which remained weak amid global cues and investor caution.
