Nifty Pharma Index rises 5.8% to create 52 week high at 12,528 level, Dr. Reddys Labs touches Rs 5,497

Nifty Pharma Index was in the focus with the NSE Index rallying 5.8% touching 12,528 levels, creating the record high of 52 week today. It was led by major buying in Dr. Reddys Labs and Cipla contributing 235.85 and 112.14 points respectively.

At 2:26 pm, the index was ticking at 12,324.30, up by 5.1%. It touched the lowest point of 11,926.65. The 52 week low of the sectoral index is 6,242.85.

On September 18, the Nifty Pharma Index opened at 11,958.20 levels. In the previous session, it had closed at 11,735.95.

With the recent announcement of procuring COVID-19 vaccines (Sputnik V) from Russia, Dr Reddy Labs was up by 12% touching Rs 5,497 on the BSE. Stocks of Cipla witnessed the Rs 819.30 level and Divis Labs peaked at Rs 3,389.

Overall, the 6 month return of the benchmark Index has been a whooping 93.71%.
