1) Vembanad Lake:-
It is the longest lake in India. It is present at the heart of the Kerala backwater tourism with numerous Kettuvallams (house boats) on it for the tourists. The Kumarakom bird sanctuary is there on the shore of the lake. The Vembanad wetland itself hosts nearly 100 native species of birds. The area is safe with only one tourist harassment report in last 20 years.
2) Kappil beach:-
It is one of the lesser visited beaches in India. That means you get a chance to enjoy sunset and sea breeze and beautiful backdrop of coconut trees on the other side in a calm, peaceful atmosphere. There is no crowd, no garbage lying here and there on the beach, no shops and bargaining, it is completely an out of the world place for the nature lovers.

3) Ponmudi:-
It is an ideal place for trekking. Green valleys, Vast tea gardens, striking mountain flowers and incredible waterfalls make Ponmudi awe-inspiringly beautiful.
4) Edakkal caves:-
Located in Wayanad district, Edakkal caves are remarkable for the pre historic cave wall carvings which were probably done at the time of stone age, as experts say. One has to trek 4000 ft up a hill to reach the caves- a good news for the trek lovers!
5) Kilimanoor palace:-
Raja Ravi Varma, one of the most celebrated Indian artist of all time, was born here. The studio where he used to work is kept just the way it was, with the colours and canvases. It is definitely a must watch for all artists and art lovers.
