IPL Super Overs: All super over matches in IPL history

The Super Over should begin 10 minutes after the second innings concludes. In the Super Over, the club that batted second in the game will bat first. The fielding team has the option of bowling from either side. The fielding restrictions should be the same as they were in the final over of the game.

RR VS KKR

In the 2009 season, the match between KKR and RR ended in a draw, resulting in the first-ever Super Over in the IPL. In their respective 20 overs, both teams had scored 150 runs in their innings.

KKR scored 15 runs in the Super Over, with Chris Gayle hitting three fours. Yusuf Pathan helped the Rajasthan squad win the game by scoring the crucial 16 runs in only four balls against Ajantha Mendis. Punjab and CSK played a Super Over the next season after both teams scored 136 runs. Punjab defeated Muttiah Muralitharan in the Super Over, chasing the required 10 runs in four balls.

RCB VS DC

There were no ties in the 2011 and 2012 seasons, however, in 2013, the results of two matches were determined in Super Overs. In the 21st match of the season, RCB scored 152/7 in a 153-run chase against Delhi. Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers stepped out to bat for RCB, who needed 12 runs in six balls. Only three runs were scored in the first four balls, but AB de Villiers smashed consecutive sixes in the last two balls to help his team win the game.

DC VS KKR and MI VS SRH

In the 2019 IPL, DC defeated KKR in the Super Over, with Kagiso Rabada demonstrating his bowling talents at the conclusion. In the same season, MI won the tied match in the Super over against SRH. Mumbai won the game thanks to Jasprit Bumrah’s excellent bowling

MI VS KXIIP

Four matches in the IPL 2020 season were decided in Super Overs, making it the most entertaining season in terms of close matchups. In actuality, the game between Mumbai Indians and Punjab was decided in two overs, with Punjab winning.

KKR VS SRH and DC VS KXIIP

KKR had won the Super Over over SRH in the afternoon game the day before. The opening match of the season was between the RCB and the MI squad, and the former triumphed because of AB de Villiers’ skill. The Delhi team won the season’s next super over against Punjab.

SRH VS DC

SRH and DC played a thrilling encounter in IPL 2021, which finished in a stalemate. The Delhi squad was successful in chasing down the required score of 8 runs in the super over.
