As the Yellowstone world of creator Taylor Sheridan gallops south for 6666, saddle up to meet a new group of cowboys at the renowned real-life 6666 Ranch (pronounced “Four Sixes”). If you recall, in Season 4 of Yellowstone, underachieving ranch hand Jimmy (Jefferson White) was moved there to attempt and get his act together. It was around this time that the Texas property was originally revealed. More tales focusing on the ranch and the cowboys that work there will be explored in this new television series.

You might be surprised that it took Taylor Sheridan so long to realise 6666’s narrative potential after learning about its real-life history. After the ranch’s former owner passed away in 2020, Sheridan bought it in May 2021. It covers three counties in Texas and was founded in 1900 by rancher and oilman Samuel Burnett. Burnett went away in 1922, and his great-granddaughter Anne Windfohr Marion received the property after him.

Yellowstone 6666 Release Date

A release date has not yet been announced. On November 13, Yellowstone is scheduled to return, while December will see the debut of 1923.

Yellowstone 6666 Cast

Although the cast hasn’t been confirmed, Jimmy was sent to the Four Sixes in Season 4 of Yellowstone to get in shape. He opted to remain rather than return to the Yellowstone Ranch since he fell in love with the location. White and Kathryn Kelly, who portrays the woman he met at the Four Sixes, have been confirmed to return to Yellowstone as series regulars. That would imply that when Yellowstone returns for Season 5, they will continue to act as the introduction to the new show.

Yellowstone 6666 Premise

The show will reportedly examine the renowned property’s history, according a Paramount+ news release. No ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666, founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 has served as the inspiration for a new scripted series where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing.

Yellowstone 6666 Title Meaning

The property was allegedly won by Samuel Burnett in a card game with four sixes. His descendants dispute that, claiming that the ranch’s name actually derives from the fact that Burnett stamped “6666” on the back of his first herd of cattle.
