The drama centres on the story of the once-wealthy Rose family, who are now forced to leave their extravagant lifestyle and move to a small town to start a new journey due to their financial struggles.

Along with their daughters Alexis and David, Johnny and Moira Rose settle into a lodge and make an effort to lead normal lives. Over the course of the sitcom’s first two seasons, viewers gave it favourable reviews. However, the number of streaming views for the drama soared with season 3, when it was made available on Netflix.

Later, it turned into one of Canada’s biggest hits, garnering praise for script, acting, and jocosity. The drama has received several awards, including the Canadian Screen Awards and the ACTRA Awards, in addition to being limited to this.
