The third season of Overwatch 2 is almost here, and leaks have already raised the bar for the upcoming release. Hopefully, our disappointment will not overshadow our anticipation. After all, Blizzard is involved. Here is everything we can anticipate from Overwatch 2’s third season, including a release date, fresh skins, game types, and a new map.
Release Date, Rewards, Game Modes, Skins, and Maps for Overwatch 2 Season 3
Overwatch 2’s Season 3 is still mostly a mystery because Blizzard has not made any public announcements about it. We ought to hear from them soon, though, given the release date is drawing more and nearer.
Date of Season 3’s Release
Blizzard has yet to disclose even the precise release date. Thankfully, we can easily figure it out on our own. Given that each Season in Overwatch 2 is planned to last nine weeks overall, mathematic calculations based on previous Seasons give us a release date of February 7. Imagine what occurs the day before that. Exactly! the New Lunar Year event ends.
Reward System Update
In general, Overwatch 2 is a great game. The heroes are well designed, and the gameplay is fantastic. The reward system is one thing that everyone despises, though. Overwatch players have had to shell out absurd sums of money for skins and other memorabilia ever since the game went free-to-play last year. Unfortunately, the play-to-earn rewards situation was not any better either. But it appears that will soon change:
New Game Mode
Aaron Keller recently told NME that he is incredibly pleased to reveal a brand-new game mode soon. Unfortunately, we are unable to predict when it will premiere—possibly later this year or in season 3. We still don’t know much about this new game mode, but we can only hope that Blizzard will reveal more information about the third season’s plot soon.

New skins
In Overwatch 2, a new mythic skin will be released as with every new season. Overwatch 2 introduces mythic skins, which can be acquired at the top tier of the premium battle pass. These skins are unique in that only one hero receives one per season, and they may be altered. We are about to find out who will be the lucky one for season 3. Genji and Junker Queen already received one in previous seasons.
Aaron Keller also hinted at a new skin that he could not wait to reveal. He might have been referring to the new mythological skin, but there may be another one on the way. In either case, he seldom teases a skin this much, so this one must be quite remarkable.
Updates On Heroes and More
With some significant hero changes in Season 3, the gameplay will undoubtedly be changed. Aaron Keller and Jared Neuss have been actively tweeting about impending season 3 developments over the past few months. We anticipate improvements for Reinhardt and more significant adjustments for Ramattra’s Ultimate. The Sojourn x Mercy duo has been incredibly overpowered in recent months, so community manager Jodie Grace has hinted that they’re intending to weaken them with some adjustments.
The ultimate charge system will change, allowing players to preserve 30% of their ultimate charge while switching to another hero during a match, according to Jared Neuss, who also revealed all the improvements to the heroes. With a superior gaming setup to start the following season, Overwatch 2 will be even more enjoyable to play.
New map
In Overwatch 2, a new map will be added to the game every other season. Even though Blizzard has not officially revealed the map for season 3, we already know about a few probable new maps that have previously been hinted at. There have been references to an area dubbed “Atlantic Arcology” in the game itself. An undersea map is something we will probably receive this year, possibly even in season 3.
