Days before the release of his debut film ‘Nancy Rani’ Malayalam filmmaker Joseph Manu James passes away

Joseph Manu James was receiving treatment for hepatitis.

Before the premiere of his first film, Nancy Rani, the Malayalam director Joseph Manu James passed unexpectedly at 31, on February 24. According to reports, he was receiving treatment for hepatitis. In Kerala’s Ernakulam district, in Aluva Hospital, he passed away.

Actors Ahana Krishna and Arjun Ashokan play the lead roles in Nancy Rani. Actress Ahana Krishna wrote, “Rest in Peace Manu, this shouldn’t have happened,” in a post on the young director’s passing. The movie’s lead performance belongs to Ahana.

Aju Varghese, also in the movie, posted a picture of the director and expressed his condolences. His post read, “Gone too soon brother. Prayers”

Manu made his feature film debut as a child actor in I Am Curious by Sabu James. The movie premiered in theatres in 2004. Later, he contributed as an assistant and co-director to a number of Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam films.
