In a recent alarming development, gangster Rohit Godara, purportedly associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has emerged as a prime suspect in the planning of the firing incident outside Bollywood star Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb.
On April 14th, two assailants fired four rounds outside Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan and his family reside, at approximately 5 am before fleeing the scene on a two-wheeler. Although no injuries were reported, the incident sparked immediate concern and led to the registration of an FIR against “unidentified persons” under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act.
Rohit Godara, a close associate of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, and Goldy Brar, is allegedly the mastermind behind the orchestrated attack. Having previously evaded authorities by fleeing to Dubai from New Delhi using a forged passport, Godara is currently believed to be operating the operations of the Bishnoi gang from the United Kingdom.
The suspected gangster is entangled in a web of criminal activities, with allegations ranging from extortion to murder. He has been implicated in over 35 criminal cases, including high-profile assassinations such as those of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in 2023 and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.
In recent weeks, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its scrutiny of Godara’s biometric data, with plans underway to facilitate his deportation from the UK. Assurances from British authorities regarding streamlined extradition processes have bolstered efforts to bring Godara to justice.
The firing incident at Salman Khan’s residence marks yet another instance of threats looming over the Bollywood superstar. Anmol Bishnoi, in a social media post following the incident, hinted at further repercussions, dubbing the event as a “trailer” of forthcoming actions. This threat comes in the wake of previous warnings received by Salman Khan, including an email threat in March 2023 and a handwritten note in June 2022, both attributed to associates of the Bishnoi gang.
