Popular TV show CID has returned with its much-awaited second season, but fans are in for an emotional twist. Shivaji Satam, who played the iconic ACP Pradyuman, is exiting the show as his character is set to die in a shocking turn of events. His on-screen demise comes at the hands of the returning villain Barboza, leaving Daya, Abhijeet, and the rest of the CID team devastated.
Stepping into the big shoes of ACP Pradyuman is actor Parth Samthaan, who has been officially confirmed to play the role of ACP Ayushmaan in CID 2. In an interview with Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan, Parth expressed both excitement and responsibility, sharing that he grew up watching the show and never imagined he’d be part of it someday.
“When I discussed it with my family, they first thought I was joking. But when they realised I was serious, they were very proud,” said Parth. “It’s a big responsibility to replace someone like ACP Pradyuman. This is a new character with a new story, and we will carry the legacy forward with fresh thrill and suspense.”
Meanwhile, Shivaji Satam responded to the developments, telling Bombay Times that he’s currently on a break and is open to whatever direction the makers choose. “If my track is over, I’m okay with it,” he said.
