Bigg Boss 16: Sumbul Touqeer’s father bashes Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta; Tina says, “Lagg gayi, hum dono ki toh”

This is the first time in Bigg Boss’ history that a contestant’s parent came in before the family week.

Yesterday was the second ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ of Bigg Boss season 16. After the rather cold first week’s ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’, this week saw a lot of drama and filth being unveiled for the contestants. One of the highlights of yesterday’s telecast was definitely the massive verbal fight between Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Soundarya Sharma over latter’s comment on Ankit Gupta’s mother choking herself if Priyanka became her daughter in law. This is a usual brawl that we are accustomed to seeing in Bigg Boss. An unusually bigger drama unfolded when Sumbul Touqeer’s father, Mr Touqeer Hasan Khan, appeared on stage with Salman Khan and blasted on Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta for mistreating his daughter.

This is the first time in Bigg Boss’ history that a contestant’s parent came in before the family week, which usually happens somewhere in January. Mr Touqeer began by expressing to Sumbul how worried he is to see her pure heartedness. He then quickly went to unmask Shalin for her. He blamed Shalin for using his 18-year-old daughter’s innocence to move ahead in the game. He said, he was happy to see Sumbul finding a friend and comfort in him because they shared the same hometown but Shalin failed Sumbul.

Her then moved on to Tina Datta and told her how he respected her so much for being a big face in the Indian television industry. And after seeing her growing friendship with Sumbul, he expected Tina to take care and protect Sumbul but she too, like Shalin, failed Sumbul. And Sumbul being the innocent one couldn’t understand that the two people in the Bigg Boss house whom she calls friends, were backstabbing her.

Later, Shalin and Tina were seen discussing the entire incident inside the bathroom in one of the rooms. Shalin was heard asking Tina, what is it that he has done. To which a worried Tina replied, “lagg gayi, hum dono ki toh lag gayi (we’re gone)!”
