This week marks the start of a new season of the contentious reality programme “Bigg Boss.” Salman Khan will reprise his role as the program’s host and add fresh turns along the route.

On October 1, “Bigg Boss 16” will debut its new season. Viewers will be able to watch the programme live stream on the Colors TV channel as well as on the OTT site, Voot, with a number of new participants imprisoned within the house for more than 100 days.

Celebrities from both television and film appear in the Salman Khan-hosted show. At a press conference for the reality programme recently, the actor denied rumours that he is collecting “Rs 1,000” crore in compensation for hosting the most recent season of “Big Boss.”

Salman said “If I get this amount I will not work in my life. Those Rs 1,000 crore, I was rumoured to be getting this year, I was about to return the money I never got in the first place. So, Colors will be in complete profit. If I am getting this price, I have so many expenses, like the fees of the lawyers. Here Salman earns, here Salman gives. It comes, it goes.” Adding that his fee is overly exaggerated, Salman said, “There is income tax… The ED (Enforcement Directorate) also notices that and they come. They know the truth.”

Salman Khan also discussed his love for the programme and his 12-year experience. “Twelve years has passed; it is a very long period. I’m accustomed to it. There is a lot to learn in this game, which I like. You get to interact with a lot of individuals. You defend the victims of bullying while harassing the perpetrator. We become closer over the course of those four months,” he remarked.
