Bigg Boss 16 is gearing up to hit the television screens on 1st October, with the back to back zeal and surge amongst the audiences. Meanwhile, the promo, teaser, time, a glimpse of the new rule, decor of the house and an assumed list of contestant have been introduced where Akansha Puri has been rumoured to be one of the contestants. The actress had never participated in the show, despite her name has been arousing for the past years since Bigg Boss 13 and this time again, there is a buzz that she will be one of the contestants in Bigg Boss 16. But this time the actress herself reveals the matter clarifying the utter confusion.
When she was asked about this, she states, “I am not doing the show this year and I haven’t even got a call from them this time. In the last season, I did get a call but at that time I was busy doing a TV show. So, I had to turn down the offer.”
Asking about why her name keeps coming up every year, she said, “The first time I went to Bigg Boss, it was as a guest in season 13 for Paras (Chhabra). During the next season, they called me as a challenger for some time, so I went as a challenger. Each year people feel that I will be part of the show because I have made an appearance as a guest earlier and maybe they want to see me in the show as a contestant. I have even shared pictures on social media made by my fans who ask me to do Bigg Boss, so I guess they feel I am doing it this year.”
Speaking about her view if she wants to be a part of the show, she shared, “In the future I might, if I have time on hand. Sometimes when we do a daily soap, it is not possible to do a reality show, but after I did my first reality show (Swayamvar of Mika Di Vohti), I have got a hang of how reality shows work. So in the future, I would like to be a part of Bigg Boss too.”
Remarkbly, She is the winner of the show Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti, that is based on Bollywood singer Mika Singh’s quest to find a suitable match that ended up choosing Akanksha Puri as his future bride with whom Milka had been friends for past 13 years and that brought a controversy upon the show that the jodi to be a pre ‘scripted’ one .
The final episode of Star Bharat’s Swayamvar- Mika Di Vohti concluded on 25th July with Puri emerging as the winner after she made a wild card entry and pitted against co-contestants Prantika Das and Neet Mahal.
Akanksha Puri is an Indian actress and model, known for her work in Hindi TV shows, also few South Indian movies like Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada besides Bollywood movies. Puri made her Bollywood debut with Madhur Bhandarkar’s 2015 drama film Calendar Girls. In 2017, she was cast as Mata Adi Parashakti in ‘Vighnaharta Ganesha’ for which she is best known and that is also her last television outing, that brought her a big round of applause and a massive fan base. Since then, She has been offered roles for music videos, web series and films down south.
Earlier this year, Akanksha was approached to play the lead in Choti Sarrdaarni. Though interested, Akanksha couldn’t proceed for her due work commitments.
