From KGF2 to Sadak 2, here are Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming movies and their current status, amid actor’s Lung Cancer diagnosis

Earlier this week Sanjay Dutt was hospitalized after the actor faced some issues with his breathing. The actor was tested negative for the COVID-19. Sanjay Dutt was discharged from the Lilavati Hospital after being admitted there for two days. Yesterday, he took to his social media handle and announced a break from his work for medical treatment. He asked his fans and media to not speculate and worry.

However, later it was reported that Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Though there hasn’t been any official confirmation and its still not confirmed whether it was stage 3 or stage 4 cancer. Since there wasn’t any official statement from the family, a few celebrities like Neha Dhupia, Ashish Chowdhry, Sophie Choudry, and Yuvraj Singh wished Dutt a speedy recovery. Raveena Tandon too posted a cryptic tweet.

Sanjay Dutt’s unfortunate diagnosis has come in the midst of the release of his upcoming films. Dutt was also geared up for the release of a couple of more films while a few of them are in different stages of production.

Sadak 2
Sadak 2 will be the sequel of 1991 movie Sadak, Sanjay Dutt will be playing the role of Ravi from the first film. Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur will also be seen in the lead role. Sadak 2 also marks the directorial comeback of Mahesh Bhatt after a long break of 21 years. The movie is getting released on 28th August on Disney+Hotstar.

KGF: Chapter 2
This the most awaited movie of Sanjay Dutt. A sequel to the 2018 blockbuster movie, the biggest Kannada hit, KGF: Chapter 1. The sequel will follow the journey of Rocky(Yash). Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing the main antagonist Adheera who will be a perfect counterpart to Rocky. Film’s producer Karthik Gowda had recently revealed that 24 days of filming was still pending. It is unclear if Sanjay Dutt had shot for his scenes or not.

Bhuj: The Pride Of India
Bhuj: The Pride of India marks the reunion of Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha after 2012 hit Son of Sardaar. This movie is a patriotic film based on a true story. Just like Sadak 2, Bhuj: The Pride of India is also ready to release and will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. However, the release date is not confirmed.

Torbaaz
The movie also features Nargis Fakri and Rahul Dev. The movie is based in Afghanistan, it’s a sports-based movie about how a man changes the life of a group of children from a refugee camp. The movie was amongst the 17 films and web series announced for a Netflix release. The release date is yet to be announced.

Shamshera
The shooting of the film was all set to resume this week but due to Sanjay Dutt’s diagnosis, it has been further delayed. A source had told Mid-day that Sanjay Dutt had only three days of shoot left that too patchwork. With the reports of Sanjay Dutt heading abroad for treatment, it has to be seen for how long the shoot of the film is stretched. A Yash Raj Films venture, Shamshera is directed by Karan Malhotra. The movie also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vani Kapoor.

Prithviraj
Not much is known about Sanjay Dutt’s role in the film but it was reported that his character will be pivotal to the plot of the film. The shooting of the film was stalled due to coronavirus pandemic in March, earlier this year. Directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj is another Yash Raj Films venture Sanjay Dutt is a part of. Starring Akshay Kumar in and as Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, this movie also marks the debut of Manushi Chhillar.
