Sanjeeda Shaikh reveals dark side of showbiz: Recalls being groped by a woman at a nightclub

The glamorous world of showbiz often hides its darker realities, as actor Sanjeeda Shaikh recently revealed. In an eye-opening interview with Hauterfly, Sanjeeda shared a shocking incident where she was groped by a woman at a nightclub, an experience that left her deeply disturbed and reflective.

A Shocking Incident

Recounting the incident, Sanjeeda said, “I remember one incident very vaguely but it was by a girl. I was in a nightclub. One girl was passing by and she just touched my breast and she left. I was kind of taken aback, like what just happened. We hear men smack you on the back and they misbehave, ladkiyaan koi kum nahi hai (but women are also the same).” The unexpected encounter left her questioning many aspects of behavior and decency.

Addressing Misbehaviour

Sanjeeda emphasized that wrongful actions are not gender-specific. “If you are headed on the wrong path, you are going on it regardless. It has nothing to do with men or women; whatever is wrong is wrong. If a woman has wronged you, tell her. Because I think playing the victimhood card is very unattractive,” she asserted, advocating for accountability irrespective of gender.

Overcoming Personal Struggles

Apart from this revelation, Sanjeeda also opened up about her personal life, particularly her divorce from actor Aamir Ali in 2020. She described that period as one of the most challenging times of her life, feeling incredibly depressed and unfortunate. However, she has since found a path to self-love and healing. “It was after some time that I started loving myself, and now I have overcome and am happy with this version of myself,” she shared, reflecting a journey of resilience and self-discovery.

Rumours and Relationships

Last year, rumors swirled about Sanjeeda dating actor Harshvardhan Rane, sparked by their coinciding social media posts suggesting they were both vacationing in the Gir forests. Addressing these rumors, Harshvardhan told News18, “It does not bother me because it is the job of journalists to write and they also have a weekly deadline and daily quota or target of stories to submit. I see them as humans who are trying to do a job, just like my job is to be in films. I respect my journey and effort too much and hence, I respect their process too. They can write anything about me. I would still hug them when I see them.”

Sanjeeda is currently basking in the success of her web series “Heermandi,” showcasing her talent and dedication to her craft.
