The former Bigg Boss 14 contestant took to social media to share his firsthand experience, highlighting the challenges faced by residents and visitors alike during the unusual downpour.
While in Dubai before his departure to Kolkata on April 17, Rahul Vaidya encountered the aftermath of heavy rainfall, struggling to navigate through knee-deep water. Updating his Instagram followers about the situation, he expressed astonishment at the city’s unpreparedness for such weather conditions. In an Instagram story, Rahul remarked, “It rained for just two hours and look at the situation. Dubai isn’t accustomed to heavy rainfall.” He recounted the chaos with cars stuck and a scarcity of taxis, causing a standstill in the city’s usual hustle and bustle.
Despite the challenges, Rahul Vaidya found solace in the kindness of strangers. He shared a heartfelt post thanking individuals who assisted him in reaching the airport safely amidst the chaos. Expressing his gratitude, Rahul captioned a picture with his rescuers, “Thank you my first family in Dubai… for bailing me out…and helping me reach the airport when the whole of Dubai has come to a standstill!”
