
Swapnil Joshi, who is among the prominent faces of the Marathi film industry, will be next seen in the web series, Samantar 2. The story of Samantar revolves around a young man Kumar Mahajan. His life changes after he goes on a journey to find another man who shares the same destiny with him. In his recent interview, he expressed his view on the Marathi film industry and its quality content.
The actor said to IANS, “I think Marathi cinema has grown many folds in the last couple of years. Marathi cinema has come of age. We have reached the Oscars, we have broken the Rs 100-crore barrier and continue to do that every passing day.”
The actor has been a part of several iconic films in Marathi and was loved by the audience. He has been receiving an equal amount of love for his performance on OTT.
He further added, “I think Marathi content, be it cinema or OTT needs to be accessible to people. At the cost of sounding immodest, as far as content is concerned, I feel that we are making some of the finest content in India. Now the job is to reach a bigger and wider audience.”
Actor Swapnil Joshi has been still remembered for his role of ‘Krishna’ as a child artist in Ramanand Sagar’s show. He then made his name in both Marathi and Hindi entertainment industries.
The web series, Samantar 2 is directed by Satish Rajwade and written by Ambar Hadap. The series includes cast like Tejaswini Pandit, Sai Tamhankar, Nitish Bharadwaj, Ganesh Revdekar with Swapnil Joshi in the lead. The series will be streaming on MX player.
